Legend of El Dorado, steps to get into the Augmented Reality

-For the development of my interactive installation I decided to create three phases:

-First phase: I created an installation that consisted of a symbolic recreation of the Lagoon of Guatavita (Legend of El Dorado). I built two infinity mirrors with LED lights which recreated the depth of the lagoon and the representation of the water. One of the mirrors had different figures of the pre-Columbian indigenous culture installed inside. The second mirror had the option of interaction through manual insertion of a sheet of paper with different pre-Columbian indigenous figures painted by me.

-Second phase: I decided to create a new circular infinity mirror that was also considered the symbolic representation of the Lagoon of Guatavita. Thanks to an Arduino (which is an open-source platform used to build electronics projects) I developed in code a fragment of the song “Pirates of the Caribbean” (referring to the arrival of the conquerors to the Muisca´s land in the 16th Century), likewise, I managed to put 10 light bulbs that were lit with the melody. The interaction was more complex.

-Third phase: I continued using the second phase but I also added Augmented Reality (A / R).  I recreated some pre-Columbian indigenous figures in a computer program called Blender. The idea is that the public could has the possibility of interacting with the pre-Columbian objects created in 2D and 3D. I want that the audience has the experience of taking out the golden treasures from the bottom of the lagoon (represented by the infinity mirror) through their mobile phones or tablets. The public can admire, play and modify them on the screens of their mobile phones or tablets.
